This week's portrait of the first Arab writer who excelled in writing science fiction and fantasy novels, horror and suspense stories, the late (Ahmed Khaled Tawfik), and the beginning of success was when he wrote several series of stories of a type that was not familiar at the time among readers with titles: (Fantasia, Safari, etc.). metaphysics), and some of these stories have been translated into foreign languages. Tawfiq was born in the city of Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, in 1962. He obtained his doctorate in tropical medicine in 1997. He was working in his specialty in addition to his literary writings. Generations of the youth of Egypt and the Arab world shaped their conscience through most of his writings, and the novelist was always preoccupied in his writings with his society and social issues.

بورتريه هذا الأسبوع لأوّل كاتب عربى برع فى كتابة روايات الخيال العلمى والفانتازى وقصص الرعب والتشويق، إنّه الراحل (أحمد خالد توفيق)، وكانت بداية النجاح عندما قام بكتابة عدة سلاسل قصصية من نوع لم يكن مألوفًا وقتها بين القُرّاء بعناوين: (فانتازيا، سفارى، وما وراء الطبيعة)، وتم ترجمة بعض من هذه القصص للغات أجنبية. وُلد (توفيق) في مدينة طنطا بمحافظة الغربية عام1962م، وحصل على الدكتوراه في طب المناطق الحارة عام 1997م، وكان يزاول عمله في اختصاصه إلى جانب كتاباته الأدبية. أجيال من شباب مصر والوطن العربى تشكّل وجدانهم من خلال معظم كتاباته، وكان الدكتور الروائي دائمًا مشغولًا فى كتاباته بمجتمعه وقضاياه الاجتماعية.
